KOI Thé Cambodia recently opened its 30th outlet along Phnom Penh’s Kampuchea Krom boulevard, just a few blocks from the bustling Royal University complex. Named “Koi Thé Reach Theany,” which translates to “modern” and “monumental” in English, the three-story building features a contemporary architectural style inspired by the outlines of Wat Phnom and the delicate layering of ingredients found in every KOI Thé Macchiato. From the outside, large glass panels embrace a spacious interior held together by concrete and metal, furnished with translucent and non-translucent materials, stylish home décor, an open kitchen, and KOI Thé’s signature interplay of wood, white, and black tones. KOI Thé’s 30th outlet seats up to 300 people over 304 square meters, making it the largest KOI Thé outlet in the world. Guests can also enjoy 300MB of Internet Speed.
The opening of KOI Thé’s 30th outlet in Cambodia marks seven years of growth for the bubble milk tea company, a notable achievement amidst a global pandemic that has pushed many businesses to close. With its large size, generous seating capacity, and rapid internet speed, this outlet iterates KOI Thé’s mission not just to satisfy Cambodia’s growing demand for milk tea, but also to meet the digital connectivity needs of young students and professionals, as they enjoy themselves in the “Third Place” between work and home.
“KOI Thé’s growth through the years is not an accident,” said KOI Thé CEO Mr. Khorn Chhundara. “From the beginning, we have always strived to produce consistently delicious tea beverages across our main product lines of Flavored Tea, Milk Tea, Signature Macchiato, and Tea Lattes. Each cup is crafted freshly by hand using high quality ingredients, such as in house ice, aromatic tea leaves from Taiwan, and fresh cream from Ireland. In addition, we meticulously train our team of 400 employees to maintain high standards in operating procedures. With the opening of our 30th outlet, KOI Thé hopes to set industry standards not just in the crafting of high quality milk teas, but also in offering world-class customer service, and providing Cambodia’s young generation with the Internet Speed they need to achieve success. We are grateful for the continued support of the Cambodian people and look forward to sharing our love of milk tea further with the rest of the country.”
Launched in 2014 in Phnom Penh, KOI Thé has grown to be one of the more visible brands in a highly competitive industry. The company’s growth has been fueled by Cambodia’s rapid urbanization, a growing middle class, and as more local consumers enjoy tea as a staple of daily life.
These trends appear set to continue. According to the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs, urbanization will increase from 23.8 percent in 2020 to 29.2 percent by 2030. In the same period, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs estimates that Cambodia’s population will jump from 16.72 million to approximately 19 million. To meet the rising demand for bubble milk tea, KOI Thé plans to open 30 more outlets across the country by 2025.
