Cambodia will host the Cambodia Tech Expo 2022, the first annual program, focusing on excellence in technology, economy and digital society and the fourth generation of the industrial revolution (4IR). The expo is scheduled to be held from November 11 -13, 2022 at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, according to the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation.
The expo is a major event organised in conjunction with the ASEAN Summit, which Cambodia is hosting. “The expo aims to establish a national technology platform to mobilise ASEAN member states, the private sector, research institutions, development partners and civil society to share experiences, new trends, challenges and achievements related to technology, economy and digital society and the fourth generation industrial revolution,” the ministry said.
The three-day event will feature presentations on the investment opportunities in science, technology and innovation as well as the updated frameworks and procedures to support the sectors.
The ministry said that the expo will have a dialogue forum between ASEAN economic ministers, private sector representatives, researchers, and civil society, conferences and workshops for leaders and professionals to share current and future technologies, business-to-business events for new businesses, and investors, ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Carnival, startup investment readiness program for tech startup, and forum on Cambodia business and financial technology Forum.
The first-ever event in Cambodia, the expo is organised by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation with support from relevant ministries – Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ministry of Health.
Cambodia views the digital economy as a new source of growth as it is building frameworks and procedures to support the new trend, said Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce.
