In a move that takes another step towards realizing Cambodia’s vision and power development plan, RHB Bank Cambodia and PESTECH virtually cement their commitment to creating a cleaner and more sustainable future for the Kingdom at a virtual Financing Signing Ceremony. In a private virtual event, the Country Head of RHB Group Cambodia, Mr Wong Kee Poh said “As part of its sustainable financing efforts, RHB Cambodia is pleased to enter into a green financing facility agreement to finance the development of a solar power plant by PESTECH Group in Svay Teap district, Cambodia.”
RHB Bank Cambodia promotes Environment, Social and Governance activities within Cambodia by amongst others, empowering customers through green financing facilities, towards creating a cleaner and more sustainable future. Additionally, citing that this green financing facility forms part of the green financing commitment by the wider RHB Banking Group to extend 5 billion Ringgit or 1.2 billion US Dollars by 2025 to support green activities and the transition to a low-carbon and climate resilient economy through lending, capital markets advisory and investment.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director and Group CEO of PESTECH, Mr. Paul Lim Pay Chuan was pleased to announce their collaboration and expressed appreciation for the support. Even highlighting their latest corporate accomplishment by adding, “Our latest breakthrough is the ability for us on a group level to secure and own a large scale solar farm in Bavet City, Cambodia, where we install a 20 megawatts solar farm that projects the group towards building up a renewable energy solar farm in Cambodia.”
Both organizations showed their commitment to their mission of “Building A Sustainable Future” together by virtually signing on the dotted line during the virtual Financing Signing Ceremony, as well as encouraging other corporations to play their part in nurturing change amongst customers and stakeholders towards transitioning to more sustainable practices.
