Cambodia earned more than $77 million from the export of Cambodia rubber and rubberwood

Cambodia earned more than $77 million from the export of rubber and rubberwood in the first two months of this year, according to the General Directorate of Rubber. The revenue from Cambodia rubber exports reached more than $76 million, while the revenue from rubberwood stood at $355,946. In February 2022, Cambodia rubber production rose six per cent to 48,509 tonnes, compared to last year’s same month. The report indicated that the volume of wood rubber exports surged 66 percent to 808 cubic metres. As of February, the average selling price of Cambodia rubber fell by $2 per tonne to $1,585 per tonne. The total rubber area is 404,044 hectares, of which 310,193 hectares are rubber plantations, while the maintenance area is 93,851 hectares. At the meeting with the General Department of Agriculture, General Department of Animal Health and Animal Production and General Department of Rubber to review the performance, Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, said that the agricultural sector has been playing an important role in promoting socio-economic development, rural development and alleviating poverty. He said the main international market is China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, India and EU. In 2021, Cambodia earned more than $611 million from exporting Cambodia rubber and rubberwood.
